Electronic Wire Guidance
Electronic wire guidance systems, combined with high rise high density warehousing, allows you to drastically increase the space of your warehouse. Using specially designed order pickers and turret trucks that can operate in very narrow aisles and allow access to stock stored at 12-14 metres above the floor, it is possible to increase your warehouse space by at least 30%.
Installation of electronic wire guidance systems and high rise high density warehousing also allows you to increase productivity and safety in your workplace. Electronically controlled trucks are much safer and can work at a much quicker speed, increasing the through-put of pallets per cycle. Trucks can also be automatically slowed as they reach the end of and aisle, reducing the risk of collisions.
The installation of electronic wire guidance systems does take some planning. Deciding on EWG systems before you build, renovate or expand your warehouse will simplify the installation process and ensure that you achieve the maximum amount of space possible for your warehouse. Realising your warehouse's full potential involves taking several things into consideration: the layout and plan of your operations, the slab, the racking system, the type of forklifts you will need, as well as the guidance system.
Once you have decided that electronic wire guidance is right for your operation there are three main things to consider:
- the floor - the racking system - the type of lift truck you will need.
The pages in this section address these concerns and will give you the information you need to start preparing for the installation of an electronic wire guidance system. Involving EWGA from the very beginning of your renovation, expansion or new development will ensure you have access to the best advice when it comes to maximising the space in your warehouse.
