Warehouse Racking
To maximise the storage space in your warehouse, electronic wire guidance used in conjunction with high density high rise racking is the best option. The racking solution you choose will depend on the application. Very narrow aisle (VNA) or narrow aisle (NA) racking systems will give the biggest increase in space.
Racking should also take into account the kind of lift trucks that you will be using. If you only need access to single items or small loads, you will be most likely using order pickers. Choosing a racking system for ease of access will reduce time wasting and increase productivity. If you need access to whole pallets, you will be probably be using turret trucks and should choose a relevant racking system.
Consider whether you need access to both single items and whole pallets. Order pickers can be used to access items with a low to medium turnover, while pallet racking and turret trucks can be used to access items with a high turnover. You may need to divide your warehouse into two sections to accommodate different products.
